Divas in Malacca

After months and months of postponing our plan to Malacca, the diva group can’t take it no more. So with a whatsapp text from Darren announcing his success upon conquering FIA, “jom Malacca” and Cassey’s “ok my finals end next week” and my “ok anything”  (‘cos apparently I’m the person with the most free time,NOT) , our mini road trip finally CMI (could make it).

One thing to be proud of our fabulous group is that we just automatically took up different roles. Cassey volunteered to be the driver and also the fund manager, Darren as our photographer (and everything else) and I was in-charge of the schedule for the day!

I know, you’d probably be thinking, WHAT. Schedule?! Why would you need an itinerary to go Malacca? )(==)(  I am so darn glad we had it. I am proud to say we didn’t waste a minute wandering on the street googling where to go or what to eat.

Anyways, we left KL at approximately 8am and made our first stop at the infamous 486 BabaLow @ Jalan Tengkera for breakfast. It took a good ol’ half an hour for us to find that place as it wasn't located at Bandar Hilir where all the tourist spots are. With no signboard, we actually drove passed that stall for couple of times without knowing that’s actually the place we’re looking for. We had to stop by the roadside and ask two kind uncles to finally discover the gem.
Sorta explains why we couldn't find the stall.

So happy when we spotted the name the of stall! Wanted to order everything off the menu!

Kuih Gula Melaka. A wholesome Gula Melaka dancing on taste buds!

The popiah skin is so different from what I had before!

The sambal was mmmmm. *drools*

This laksa is DA BOMB.

Pai Tee!

Slightly different from the typical chendol I usually have at Jonker Street, this one tastes more "home-made" and more Gula Melaka fragrant! (Apparently it's one of the best chendol in Malacca)

After the ever-so-satisfying first meal, we made our way to the town. We decided to burn off some of those calories (to stuff ourselves with more food)  by doing some walking and stairs-climbing at the usual tourist spots like the fort, St.Paul’s Church, Dutch’s graveyard etc.
Perfect frame for the trio

Mandatory groupfie :P

Mind the handicapped scorpion

Lunch time! (Were SO on time for that :P) Amongst all chicken rice balls’ restaurants, I’ve picked Chung Wah kopitiam as I find it the least overrated as the rest, I guess?  The queue wasn’t as bad compared to the first time I went there. After 15-20mins of sunbathing, we finally got a table.
Sunbathing sesh.

Perfect love triangle between the rice balls, chicken and chilli sauce
Escorting the Diva of all divas

Big shout-out to another hidden gem! Calanthe Art Cafe @Jalan Hang Kasturi

Fab or what?

Despite coming to a cafe, none of us ordered coffee because were too dehydrated so we ordered soda and soothers to quench our thirst instead.
The real kind of hippy interior

Part of their creative wall art!

Divas in crime (so much love for them)

After a couple of hours strolling along Jonker Street (oh right, we'd also stop by Jonker88 for their laksa, chendol AND rojak), we left to Klebang to get ourselves some really fantastic coconut shake!
The infamous Klebang Coconut Shake! They were playing Swift's "Shake It Off" when we were there.. (Not kidding)

Left half an hour later than expected but we managed to tick off EVERY places and food on the list! THAT FEELING. We arrived in KL at approximately 8:30pm as it was pretty jam due to some major and minor accidents along the way back. Under couple of recommendations and suggestions, we have decided to drop by Coffeels Coffea nearby my place for dinner. I just LOVE, LOVEEEEEE that place. Tareq ( the barista, probably one of the owner as well) always make me feel like I’m coming back home. They serve absolutely great coffee (I fell in love in their Rose Latte) and really scrumptious waffles.

That marked a perfect ending to our fruitful day. And I definitely am blessed by having all these great people in my fabulous life.  #neverstopdivaing

Cheers to the beautiful life! xx
